YWCA Offers a Lunch and Learn on Oct. 24 for IT Apprenticeship Program

The YWCA of the Quad Cities is launching new Apprenticeships to their Career Training program later this year in three high need industries:

  • IT/Cybersecurity

  • Child Care

  • Healthcare

These Apprenticeship Programs will provide employers with a fast-tracked way of recruiting and training new hires and/or upskilling existing workers in critical skills and competencies.

The first program to launch will be the IT and Cybersecurity Apprenticeship and the YWCA is hosting a virtual Lunch and Learn on Tuesday, October 24 at 12:00 p.m. with SAFAL Partners, a firm that manages the registered apprenticeship program. At the virtual session, employers can hear from subject matter experts on how a registered IT/Cybersecurity apprenticeship program will have a positive impact on a company's need for workers now, and in the future, while providing transparent career pathways that will engage and retain employees.

“Apprenticeships provide a structured, yet customizable way to train and develop a team with wide-ranging benefits,” said Angela Baker of SAFAL Partners. “Whether an organization is looking to increase productivity, create a more diverse workforce, or bridge skills gaps, an apprenticeship program is a workforce development strategy used by many employers in the US.”
